Can you believe that we have another new team member?!
Alicia is our new Director of Re-entry Services and believes that the highest calling in life is to embrace your strengths to share them with the people you meet along your journey, perfect for her role here at Breakthrough.
Let’s learn some more “fun-facts” about Alicia:
Where were you born?
What is your favorite color?
What is your favorite food?
Mashed potatoes and gravy; I’m country.
What is your favorite activity to do in your free time?
Play/watch/chat soccer. I’m an avid Manchester United supporter. You can also find me with my family and friends or hiking around with my very best friend, my dog.
Are you a dog person or cat person?
Dog lady for sure!
What has been your favorite job so far?
The most gratifying job I have had to date was serving as a Senior Probation Officer for the City and County of Denver. In this role, I was able to positively impact the experience of probationers under supervision and optimize agency collective effectiveness by owning, drafting, and revising the Standards of Work (policy) for the Probation Department. I deeply enjoyed supporting folks of all different backgrounds and identities while they worked through their bumps in the road.
Why did you want to help the men and women who are incarcerated here in Colorado?
It’s my calling to use my talents and sphere of influence to dismantle oppressive systems and help restore those affected by those systems. I have a specific interest and expertise in the criminal justice system. My mission is to assist those impacted by it in my community and beyond. Breakthrough aligns with these spiritual causes for me and I am so excited to bring this energy to the team and our participants.
What is your favorite part of your job as Director of Re-entry Services?
Knowing that I am part of a diverse, like-minded team that uses our individual talents and experiences to help others restart their lives. The Re-Entry Avengers, if you will. 🦸🏾♀️
Anything else you want to add:
I am deeply grateful to be a part of this organization and trusted to help shape our impact on the community. I’m looking forward to what our team will accomplish together for the greater good.
