What has been your favorite job so far?
The most gratifying job I have had to date was serving as a Senior Probation Officer for the City and County of Denver. In this role, I was able to positively impact the experience of probationers under supervision and optimize agency collective effectiveness by owning, drafting, and revising the Standards of Work (policy) for the Probation Department. I deeply enjoyed supporting folks of all different backgrounds and identities while they worked through their bumps in the road.
Why did you want to help the men and women who are incarcerated here in Colorado?
It’s my calling to use my talents and sphere of influence to dismantle oppressive systems and help restore those affected by those systems. I have a specific interest and expertise in the criminal justice system. My mission is to assist those impacted by it in my community and beyond. Breakthrough aligns with these spiritual causes for me and I am so excited to bring this energy to the team and our participants.
What is your favorite part of your job as Director of Re-entry Services?
Knowing that I am part of a diverse, like-minded team that uses our individual talents and experiences to help others restart their lives. The Re-Entry Avengers, if you will. 🦸🏾♀️
